Submission to the carbon leakage review: second consultation

Manufacturing Australia broadly supports the preliminary findings of the carbon leakage review, which have been released for consultation.

The intention of these measures should be to ensure a level playing field between domestic manufacturer and imports, not to advantage one over another.

MA continues to support the development of policy measures to mitigate carbon leakage risks, and welcomes the review’s acknowledgement that these risks are material.

We urge careful progression to the design of policy measures based on these preliminary findings, and look forward to continuing to input to that effort.
